Your financial support this past year through donations, your purchase of engraved bricks for our Walk of Fame, your purchases in the Museum Gift Shop, and your attendance at our events have made it possible for the Foundation to underwrite the cost of our major project of 2015—upgrading and repainting our rolling stock at the Museum.

The repainting of the 1910 Union Pacific caboose is now complete and was the venue for readings of the Polar Express at our recent Santa at the Museum event. The 1949 ATSF caboose is midway through a complete restoration now. The interior is being repaired and the entire car will be repainted so that it can be opened once again for public display. Simultaneously, the 1923 Union Oil tank car will be repainted.

Our primary project for this coming year leading up to the museum’s 50th anniversary is the restoration of the last of our planned rolling stock, our 1913 wooden boxcar. This will be the most complex and most expensive of our restoration projects.
