The Lomita Railroad Museum Foundation Board will host its 10th Annual Sunday Afternoon Tea on Sunday, May 21st, and we welcome the Lomita-Harbor City Kiwanis as co-host for this year's special event.

We would love for you to join us for a relaxing afternoon with fellow supporters of the Museum. This is an excellent opportunity for you and your friends to meet the Museum Foundation Board and find out what’s been happening at the Museum for the past year and what the Museum plans are for the next year and into the future.

The Sunday Afternoon Tea is one of our main fundraisers of the year and is always an afternoon of delightful conversation, fun filled nostalgia, tea and light refreshments and this year will be just as much fun as the last!

Entertainment will be provided by Donovan Chavez, Elvis tribute artist. Photo opportunities will be available during the event.

He is the youngest of three children, having enjoyed singing and dancing since he was a toddler. At family gatherings, while relatives played guitar, piano and sang, he was always in the midst of it all. “Thanks to my dad who admired Elvis from an early age and then passed it on to me. I’ve always had a love for Elvis’s music second to none, and that love permeates his existence.”

At the age of 17 was when he first performed as Elvis at his sister’s wedding, from then on he stood with it, doing shows in Restaurants, Grand Openings, Private Parties, Charities, Fund Raisers, Concerts in the Park, Senior Functions, and has also been in Competitions. Placing 5th at the Hacienda Casino in Boulder Nevada, then placing 2nd the following year there, placed 3rd in Palm Springs at the Honeymoon Hideaway Suite Competition and placing one of the top 10 in the ETA Elvis Expo in Yuma Arizona. Then in 2015 Donovan won 1st place at the Orange County Fair, Crème de la King Competition.

“I devote most of my time to performing 24/7 with the support of my wife as my Manager. I take Elvis’s music to the heart and try my best to keep his legacy alive. He is an inspiration to my life and he truly is the KING OF ROCK N ROLL.”
